Each necklace comes on an 18-inch steel chain that typically rests the pendant a bit below the collar bone. Gold-filled chain and attachments are available for an additional fee. Gold fill will retain its color far longer than gold-plated jewelry. While the gold-plated chain that I use should not fade for around two years of regular wear, gold fill jewelry has 100 times the amount of gold and will stand up to abrasion and sweat, and is tarnish resistant.
